Do you bring the right energy?

Gate terminal on the Maasvlakte port area in Rotterdam is the first Dutch LNG terminal. We are a joint venture between Gasunie and Vopak and we provide the supply and transit of LNG for our customers. Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is natural gas in liquid form, and it arrives at Gate terminal in tankers from nearly every continent. Storage tanks are able to accept large quantities of LNG. The terminal functions as a hub: the product is reloaded into tankers for export or it is converted into natural gas, after which it enters the European distribution network via pipelines.

What are our challenges?

We convert LNG to natural gas for delivery to industry and households in Northwest Europe. Our customers are also able to supply LNG for use as fuel in ships and trucks via our storage tanks. We assist our clients in the further development of LNG markets based on a flexible provision of services and use of high-quality technology. We do this day in and day out – reliably, safely and in an environmentally-friendly manner.
